Policy priorities
Civic Engagement and be Heard: We work to uplift AAPI voices and votes across Florida and the country to conduct non-partisan voter registration and mobilization. In addition, we Inform and sign up applicable voters to vote by mail or vote during an early voting period and inform voters about upcoming local, state, and national elections with Asian languages.
Health Care Access: With support of APIAHF, OCA South Florida Chapter continues Affordable Care Act (ACA) enrollment efforts through culturally and linguistically to ensure AAPIs and other immigrant communities be accessed to affordable health care coverages. Special Enrollment Period (SEP) A time outside the yearly Open Enrollment Period when you can sign up for health insurance. You qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if you’ve had certain life events, including losing health coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, or adopting a child.
Immigration: We fight for comprehensive immigration reform that will improve the family visa system and create a clear pathway to citizenship.
